I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended and supported Elizabeth Development Company’s (EDC) 2^nd Annual Neighborhood Leaders Awards Reception.  We would like to especially thank our honorees including William Best of PNC Bank, Jacobson Distributing Company, Jeff Fowlkes of Embassy Suites Elizabeth-Newark Airport, John DiFabio of Cranford Heating and Plumbing, LLC, and Davison Wayne Developers and sponsors, and financial supporters for helping to make this event special.

For the team at EDC, we once again exceeded expectations with this year’s fund raiser which will be used to expand our On-the-Job Training and revitalization programs. 

We were able to recognize some of our most significant employer partners as well as bring together newly employed trainees who are working on creating a new sustainable career.  For those participants, we are proud to have helped them gain employment and we will continue to play a part in helping them succeed. It is their hard work and determination that will contribute to the overall success for our community. 

EDC is very proud of Carlos Sanchez, who made wonderful contributions to the Elizabeth community.  To Carlos we bid farewell and wish him good luck in his new position as Deputy Business Administrator and Director of Economic Development for the City of Plainfield, NJ.

EDC, over the years has undertaken some complicated and large-scale development and revitalization projects.  Our human development OJT program is proving to be a natural fit as we continue to work to develop vibrant business and residential communities "One Neighborhood at a Time."  We are blessed with a pool of local residents eager for employment opportunities.
